How to Cure Cellulitis

Cellulitis is an inflammation of the skin. The affected area usually looks red, swollen and tender. The infection can spread through your blood. When this occurs, you can experience fever and swollen glands. Because of the severe symptoms and effect of this infection, immediate medical attention is imperative. Performing ways on how to cure cellulitis isn’t easy. If the infection is left unattended, it could lead to serious complications.

In order to know and understand the ways and means on how to cure cellulitis, you must first take note of how the body gets infected. Cellulitis is caused by a bacterial infection. The bacteria enter the body through a break in the skin, which is usually from a cut, an insect bite, burns, surgical incisions, dermatitis, open wound or even body piercings. The bacteria typically stay in the body for a period of time before you start to feel any symptoms. However, there are certain types of bacteria that can spread and be lethal in just a span of 24 hours after being infected. Thus, it is highly imperative that you don’t ignore any symptoms such as reddening and swelling after being bitten or injury that resulted to an open wound.

See a doctor. If you have consulted your doctor, he/she would provide you several steps on how to cure cellulitis. Most likely, your doctor would have advised you to take antibiotics, which usually take effect in a short period of time.

Water and and vitamin therapy. You would also need to drink lots of water to keep your body hydrated at all times. A considerable daily amount of Vitamins C and E is also highly recommended.

Herbs. Be sure to take herbs with proper care because however effective they are, they might also provide some side effects or may interact with other medications that you are taking. Some of the herbs that can help include Thyme, Gotu kola, Yarrow, Goldenseal root and Calendula flower.

Stay clean and get plenty of rest. Another thing to keep in mind is proper skin hygiene. Take a bath regularly, always wear clean clothes and be sure to attend to any skin problems as soon as possible. Also, plenty of bed rest is mandatory to those who are infected with cellulitis.

    I have tried for thirty years to be free from cellulite, but I have finally given up….LOL
