Measles is an extremely communicable disease. It is caused by airborne virus and can be transferred when the infected person coughs or sneezes or when a person happens to be in direct contact with secretions from the nose or mouth of the infected person. Measles is common among children of pre-school age.

Turmeric powder mixed with juice of bitter gourd leaves and honey is another treatment. Coughs due to measles can be treated with barley water and also with powdered liquorices with honey. They also use seeds of eggplants for immunization.
