Keeping Fever Away

According to medical experts, a fever is a normal reaction of the human body to signal that there is something wrong. The temperature acts as an indicator of the body’s attempt to return to normalcy. Every fever is usually accompanied by various irritating symptoms like body pains, headaches, and in some extreme cases diarrhea. The cause may vary from a simple too much sun to as adverse reaction to a medication. Regardless of the cause, it is a good practice to avoid immediately resorting to medication. Since a fever is an outward manifestation of the immune system’s battle with the virus, what is important is to strengthen the body to completely eliminate the virus from the body.

One of the most important things to do to keep fever away is to be consistently hydrated to help the body to aggressively fight the virus. Be in the most comfortable position possible to avoid over exerting yourself. Stick with light clothing and maintain a cool room temperature. A cool sponge bath may also help to keep the fever away. But if the fever becomes persistent for an extended period, it is better to consult a competent medical practitioner.
