The H1N1 virus or more commonly known as Swine flu (not caused by exposure to swine but because pigs are also susceptible to it) has been declared by the WHO (World Health Organization) as having reached global pandemic proportions.
This virus which was believed to not normally affect humans now spreads by human interaction. Known symptoms are similar to human flu such as fatigue, chills, headaches, body pains, sore throat, cough, and fever among others.
Preventing the spread of this virus lies in the knowledge of how it is commonly transmitted. Make sure that you cover your mouth and nose during coughing or sneezing. Observe proper hygiene like hand washing with soap and water or alcohol based cleaners. And the most basic of all is to of course avoid contact with people who exhibit symptoms of possible H1N1 virus.
